AC Replacement in Old Town & North Central Florida

Replacing a system is a big decision. We will tell you honestly when a repair is the smarter money.

We replace worn-out and failed air conditioning systems within about 60 miles of Old Town, Florida. Before recommending replacement we diagnose what is actually wrong, because a $400 repair on a ten-year-old system is usually the better call. When replacement is genuinely the right answer, the new equipment is sized to the building and the work is warranted for one year.

Overview

Air Conditioning Replacement for homes and businesses near Old Town, FL.

Plenty of North Central Florida homeowners are told to replace a system that only needed a capacitor. Our approach is the opposite: diagnose first, then lay out the real numbers — what the repair costs, what the system has left in it, and what a replacement would run. Age, refrigerant type, compressor condition and how often it has already been repaired all matter. If the honest answer is that repairing it makes more sense, that is what we will tell you.

When To Call

Signs you need ac replacement.

  • The system is 12 to 15 years old and failing repeatedly
  • A failed compressor on an out-of-warranty unit
  • The system uses R-22, which is no longer produced and expensive to recharge
  • Repair quotes that approach a significant share of replacement cost
  • Electric bills climbing every summer with no other explanation
  • The house never gets comfortable even when the system is "working"

Repair-or-replace guidance

A real diagnosis first, then the numbers on both paths so the decision is yours and it is informed.

Correct sizing on the changeout

A replacement is the one chance to fix a system that was the wrong size to begin with.

Removal and disposal of the old equipment, new equipment set, connections corrected, and full startup verification.

Our Process

How the job actually runs.

1. Diagnose the existing system

We establish what actually failed and what condition the rest of the system is in.

2. Lay out both options

Repair cost versus replacement cost, with the age and history of the equipment on the table.

3. Size the replacement

The new system is sized to the building, and duct problems that would undermine it get flagged.

4. Change out and verify

Old equipment removed, new system installed and started up, with charge and airflow confirmed under load.

Questions

AC Replacement — common questions.

Should I repair or replace my AC?

It depends on age, what failed, and the repair history. A capacitor or contactor on a ten-year-old system is worth repairing. A failed compressor on a fifteen-year-old R-22 system usually is not. We diagnose first and give you both numbers.

How long should an air conditioner last in Florida?

North Central Florida systems run hard for a long cooling season. Many reach 12 to 15 years, and regular maintenance is the single biggest factor in getting to the top of that range.

My system uses R-22. Does that force a replacement?

Not automatically, but it changes the math. R-22 is no longer produced, so recharging a leaking R-22 system is expensive and only buys time. On a large repair, replacement is often the better value.

Will a bigger system cool the house better?

No. An oversized system satisfies the thermostat quickly, shuts off before it removes humidity, and leaves the house cold and clammy while wearing itself out. Correct sizing matters more than raw capacity.
